Transition Program

Institutional Advancement
The American School for the Deaf is committed to preparing our students for successful lives in a competitive world. Our transition services program is tailored to meet our students’ individual aspirations and post-secondary plans – whether they choose to pursue a college degree or immediately enter the workforce.

Transition programming begins early in middle school and becomes more formal as students enter high school. Sometimes day programs morph to nighttime activities such as learning “How to properly fill out a Job Application".

A few simple and basic job applications for students were printed out for the students to practice. Both Jahan and Tyler are experienced in filling out job applications and both did a great job helping their peers.

The activity was a success and we are one step closer to job readiness.
