About Outreach
ASD's Outreach and Support Services are available to deaf and hard of hearing children, youth and adults, and the school districts and other service providers that serve them, throughout the state of Connecticut . Services are offered at our West Hartford campus, regional offices in Norwich and Bridgeport , and on-site at local schools. Resources, consultations and other services are provided to local school districts on a fee-for-service and/or cost reimbursement basis. Services include:
Provides families with the resources and guidance needed to create an environment in which children from birth to age three can reach their full potential. Services include language and communication development, speech and auditory training, audiological support, and support groups for families.
Comprehensive cochlear implant services including mappings, consultation and observation, troubleshooting, assistance in repairs, in-service training and more.
Community Sign Language classes at ASD.
Information and resources for local school districts, teachers, professionals and parents, relating to services that support educational programming for deaf and hard of hearing students regardless of communication modality. Assessments, educational consulting and on-site assistance including training and supervision.
A regional program assisting deaf and hard of hearing adults from CT and throughout the region with a variety of employment and supported living services, including vocational assessment, occupational skills training, employment services, supported living arrangements, and independent living training and support.
A wide variety of audiological services are available for ASD students, as well as Public School Districts.
