Admissions/Information     

The American School for the Deaf serves deaf and hard of hearing individuals from birth through adulthood with a variety of programs and services. The Elementary School is the home of ASD's Pre-School and Grades K-6.

Junior High and High School offer college-preparatory and vocational education, as well as a Deaf with Special Needs (DSN) program.

The PACES Program serves students ages 5-21 with emotional and behavioral disorders. PACES offers 7 day, 365 days a year services.

Admissions Process

Admission to ASD is on a rolling basis. Application and referral for admission must be made by  the school district in which the student resides (LEA). Parents and school districts are critical partners in planning a student's program.

Once a referral is made by the LEA and required records have been received by the ASD Admissions Office, an Admissions Evaluation is scheduled.  Following a comprehensive Admissions Evaluation and a decision by the Planning and Placement Team, an Individualized Education Program (IEP) will be developed for the student. Each student's performance is monitored and formal reports are made throughout the year, including progress reports and report cards.
