The Junior High School "Quad" Concept
The Junior High programs operate under the innovative and
highly effective Quad concept. Classes and teachers are grouped into
"quads" to take advantage of the best teaching practices. Teachers
work together in teams to ensure consistency and to allow instructional themes
to be developed across the curriculum. Students enter a community of learners
and remain with the same group for three years. The quad concept promotes
learning by connecting across subject areas, so that topics may be studied
using an integrated approach.
9th and 10th Grade Cohort Experience
The Cohort is a learning community of 9th and 10th grade students and teachers working collaboratively. It is an extension of the junior high school "Quad" concept and provides a transition between the junior high school and high school experience. The Cohort is based on social learning theories that promote Involvement and Active Participation, Cooperation and Teamwork, and Civic Responsibility through a cross-curricular teaching approach that integrates all subject areas into real-world applications.
