Learning Resource Center
With a collection of over 15,000 books, periodicals and media products delivered through libraries in the Gallaudet and Cogswell buildings, the ASD Learning Resource Center is at the very heart of our school. The Library/LRC partnership involves the collaborative efforts of principals, teachers, staff, students and LRC staff to insure that the program contributes fully to the educational process and assists in the attainment of educational outcomes.
Technical Resources

The LRC computer lab supports a wide range of electronic media based learning activities. Our library catalog is accessible from campus as well as from home. Maintained by the LRC/Library Services Coordinator, the LRC internal website provides extensive links to thoroughly researched web resources and reference tools.

All visual media is accessible by caption, either signed English or American Sign Language (ASL). The LRC houses more than 6,000 captioned videos on subjects as diverse as science, history, math, sports, fine art, job skills, computers and language arts.

Instruction and Consulting

The home of the Jr. and Sr. High School tutorial program, the LRC offers students physical and electronic access to a wealth of resources in a welcoming and accessible environment.

In addition to supporting the curriculum and working to meet the needs of a diverse school community, LRC staff provides leadership, instruction and consulting in the use of instructional resources and information technology.
